In order for a child to eat hot dogs, smoothies, raisins and/or cookies on Wednesdays, a hot dog card must first be purchased.

Please ensure your child(ren) has/have their hot dog card with them at school each HDS Wednesday.


During the hot dog and smoothie service, a parent volunteer will mark off the necessary amount on the back of the child's card for that day's sale and return the card to the student. Once all of the squares on the back are marked off, the card can be discarded.


Hot dog cards ordered online will be available for your child to pick-up on the NEXT Wednesday at hot dog service from the Admin Table ONLY if  the order is placed the Friday before NO LATER THAN 16:00 (4PM)!!. Cards are NOT delivered to classrooms.

PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to monitor the card use and make sure that there is enough money left on the card each week.  Should a child find that their card does not have enough money left on it to purchase food on a Wednesday, please know that we will not let them go hungry.  The hot dog team does accept IOU's at the Admin Table.

IOU's - OISPA does send out regular emails to parents regarding their child(ren)'s IOU amounts. Instructions will be included on ways to pay off the debt ASAP. IOU's are only allowed for either: 2x Hot Dogs or 1x Hot Dog & 1x Smoothie -- NO EXCEPTIONS!!!


IMPORTANT: OISPA is NOT responsible for replacing lost or stolen payment cards. Unused balances will NOT be refunded.  Please ensure that your child's name and year/ class are written on the front of each hot dog card.

HDS cards do not expire!!!


Hot dog cards are ONLY sold in 75 NOK, 150 NOK and 250 NOK amounts.


You can buy as many cards as you want. The OISPA recommends that parents buy more than one hot dog card, in order to avoid running out of cards in between hot dog card sales.


Hot dog cards purchased during the academic school year have NO EXPIRATION DATE!! Feel free to use them during the next school year.

On your bank's website, in the area where you normally process online payments:


  • Make payment to OISPA account #1503.23.83693  for the total amount due 

  • In the message/memo area, please provide your child(ren)’s names, year/class, and the number of cards (with denomination) you wish to purchase.  For example:


Jane Doe Y5A – 5 cards, 250NOK

John Doe Y3B – 5 cards, 75 NOK


Using this example, if Jane and John Doe's parent needed to order hot dog cards for both children, the total amount paid to the OISPA account would be ((5*250)+(5*75)), or 1,625NOK. The amounts used are examples only.


PLEASE NOTE:  It is very important that you provide the student(s)’ name, year/class, and number of cards with denomination in the message field. This is required to process everything, as well as guarantee delivery of the hot dog cards.



In order for a child's hot dog card(s) to be available for pick-up on Wednesday, the purchase must be made no later than 16.00 on the previous Friday.


Below please find the suggested purchase amounts for a half-year or full year depending on how much your child eats on Wednesday:

Hot dog cards will be sold in the school's front lobby at drop-off (8:30-9:15am) & pick-up (14.30-15.15pm) on the following dates:

  • September 1st, 2nd & 3rd,  2021

  • October 6th, 2021

  • November 3rd, 2021

  • December 1st, 2021

  • January 12th, 2022

  • February 2nd, 2022

  • March 2nd, 2022

  • April 6th, 2022

  • May 4th, 2022

  • June 1st, 2022

Cards will NOT be sold at the Aug. 20th "Welcome to OIS" afternoon for new parents or on Aug. 23rd, at the "Welcome Back Coffee & Activities Fair" after drop off -- both events to be held in the OIS Lobby.
