OISPA thanks Kate Heartfield for joining us live from Canada during OIS Book Week.
A fantastic evening where Kate Heartfield, an author, teacher and editor in Ottawa, Canada, who has authored The Valkyrie, The Chatelaine, The Embroidered Book, Alice Payne Arrives, Assassin's Creed: The Resurrection Plot, and more, introduced herself and her journey to writing historical novels.
Kate Heartfield read passages from The Embroidered Book and The Valkyrie and talked about the integration of magic and history in her work and how her stories evolve following extensive research into the time period. We are grateful for the insight and thoughts on story research and writing for our students.
